Pops is a true Outsider Artist. He is self-trained…never had any formal art classes.
As a young man his interest was in black & white photography.
When he married he became a carpenter by profession. He really enjoyed working with wood. During his working years he became interested in antiques.; their history, a sense of their beauty and the craftsmanship involved in their creation.
“Pops” decided to create from his own heart.
He blended his three talents:
1- His artists eye as seen through a camera
2- His mastery of wood skills
3- His love of old things
It is with the last two categories that Pops started creating “Tramp Art”
You will see a lot of diversity in his folk art today. Pops is creating with a lot of found objects and doing paint and crayola art.
Pops is a soft and gentle man with a deep religious foundation.
