A friend introduced me to Karla. She lives in Northern Indiana and her “real job” is teaching school but her passion is folk art. She is mostly painting with acrylics on stretched canvas.
She is married and has children. You can always find inspiration to paint around kids!! So between home and school…she is inspired!!
Her paintings are about finding joy in the simple things of life and things that bring a smile to your face. Her love for art was inspired by summers spent painting with her Grandmother now in her 90’s. As with many visionaries, Karla had a dream from the early days of her tutoring by her grandmother and one day woke up with “THE FIRE IN THE BELLY” to paint.
My first impression when I saw her paintings was “I like her colors”. Her artwork consists of bold colors … whether it is Fish, Flowers, Trees, Animals or Chili Peppers!
I find her refreshing and think that you all will enjoy her, too.
